Discord commands for CTAs
Post guild events from Discord with `/cta` and `/flash-mass`.
Channel posts use Discord commands. The web provides the share link and Ping DMs.
Who can run these commands
Officers configure Discord roles on Integrations (step 2 — Bot command permissions). Your AlbionZVZ website officer role does not grant /cta by itself; you need a selected Discord role (for example @Council) or Manage Server / Manage Events on Discord when no officer roles are configured.
If /cta does not appear after saving step 2, ask a Discord server admin to allow your role under Server Settings → Integrations → AlbionZVZ → Manage.
Post a CTA
- In a channel where the bot can post, run
/cta. - Optionally turn on
show_signupsto include a live signup roster in the ping (updates automatically as players sign up or claim roles). - Optionally pick a
roleto mention instead of @everyone. If you leave role empty, the post still pings @everyone. - Select the event from the list.
- The bot posts a channel message with event details, signup link, and (when enabled) the roster. The mention is @everyone by default, or only the role you selected.
The bot must be allowed to Mention @roles, and the role must be mentionable in Discord, for a role ping to notify members.
Roster behavior by event format
| Format | Roster in ping | Role picks on the post |
|---|---|---|
| Caller assign (ZvZ) | Party slots (assigned + empty) | No — use Auto Sign Up, Tentative, or the website |
| Self-assign | Party slots | Yes — Pick a role… dropdowns (same as /content-ping) plus CTA buttons |
| Open Party | Party slots | Yes — build dropdown + Join / Open |
Large multi-party comps may show a Note on the Discord post when parties or role picks exceed Discord size limits — the full roster is always on the website (Open button).
Seated players with a linked Discord account appear as @mentions in the roster; others show their in-game or guild display name.
/cta show_signups shows up to 3 parties on Discord. Additional parties appear in a Note on the post; use Open for the full roster. If the roster still exceeds Discord limits (very long names or many slots), the bot posts a compact CTA (event details and signup buttons only) instead of failing — you will see a short ephemeral hint to use Open for signups.
If the event description is longer than 1024 characters, the bot will not post the ping and will tell you to shorten it on the website first (Discord embed limit).
CTA reminders stay compact (no roster). The reminder uses the same mention as the /cta that scheduled it: @everyone by default, or the role you picked. Only one live roster message per event is tracked — a new CTA or content ping with roster replaces the previous live post for that event.
Flash mass from Discord
- Run
/flash-mass. - Fill title, description, mass_location, caller, and signup_visibility (guild only, public, or hidden link).
- Confirm — players receive the signup URL.
List and inspect events
