Import builds from JSON
Bulk-import guild gear from portable JSON with AI or spreadsheet help.
Who can import
Guild leaders and officers can import builds. Members browse the library only.
Open the wizard
- Open Builds (
/g/{slug}/builds). - Click Import builds (next to New build and Edit builds).
Step 1 — Prepare JSON
The wizard has two numbered steps on this screen:
- Convert with AI — choose a default tier, click Copy prompt, then paste into ChatGPT or Claude with your build table. The prompt includes the item catalog URL; the AI should fetch it once before converting. If your AI cannot fetch URLs, click Download item catalog and attach the JSON file manually.
- Paste JSON — paste the AI output (
albionzvz-portable-v1) and click Continue.
Already have valid JSON? Skip straight to step 2.
Step 2 — Review each build
- The left list shows every parsed build. Click a row to switch.
- The editor on the right is the same gear picker as New build — fix wrong items, tiers, or names in real time.
- Deny skips a build you do not want in the library.
- Use Previous / Next beside the build title, or jump from the sidebar. Click Finished under the list when done reviewing.
Unknown item ids from bad AI guesses are listed at the top — fix them in the editor or regenerate JSON.
Step 3 — Import
Confirm the count, then click Import builds. All surviving builds are saved to the guild library at once.
Tips
- Import many builds in one file (a full comp's gear) — up to 100 per import.
- Composition slot layout is not imported; assign builds to comp slots manually after import.
- If import fails validation, the wizard returns you to the first problem build.
